|Trail:||South Downs Way|
|Contributor:||Arthur2Sheds||Activity Type:||Mountain Biking||Difficulty:||Hard||Distance:||95.912 mi (154.355 km)|
|Description:||96 miles in one day - excellent route, views, terrain etc.
Would advise to do when dry but not too hot.
Locations of water taps can be downloaded elsewhere - take lots of food. Signposted virtually all the way - can't really go wrong.
We did it from west to east but can be done either way.
If you're feeling really fit then once you finish you can turn round and do 'the double' - you might want lights for that though.
I did log the route on GPS but I had a couple of failure moments which resulted in 10 miles of straight line. This track is the official bike route accurately drawn against OS 1:25,000 maps and is verified against my tracklog. MemoryMap calculates total ascent as approx 3780m.
