Trail: Waternish Lighthouse Circuit (0)
Contributor: gillwilliams Activity Type: Walking Difficulty: Average Distance: 7.839 mi (12.616 km)
Description: A wild walk across open moorland between old hilltop forts (Duns) right down to the lighthouse which is a wonderful viewpoint for whales, porpoises, puffins, seals and a whole variety of sea birds. On the way back you hug the cliff tops with amazing drops and seascapes out across the Minch to the Outer Hebrides finishing at the beautiful ruins of Trumpan Church. This walk is best done in dry weather as the main track can get pretty boggy as can the ground underfoot leading down to the lighthouse where there is no track
