Trail: Mam Tor & Peveril Castle - Outdoor Photography (0)
Contributor: OutdoorPhotography Activity Type: Walking Difficulty: Average Distance: 6.01 mi (9.672 km)
Description: A stunning, 6 mile route encompassing a gorge-like dale, an ancient castle, a ridge walk and panoramic views. Walk in a clockwise direction, as this gives you prolonged views of Peveril Castle on your descent back to Castleton. Park at the visitor centre or on-street by Cave Dale where the walk begins. Ascend the dale between the towering cliffs and onwards along the Limestone Way. Turn right at the path junction and then right again on the trail towards Mam Tor. Continue north until turning onto the path to Mam Tor's summit. Follow the ridge to Hollins Cross and here turn right downhill and follow the path and road back to Castleton.
