|Description:||This route heads up from the Refuge Bas Rua at the head of the Escreins valley to the eponymous peak.
There are some quite steep steps on the way up, and there are sections with metal foot treads bolted into the rock that have to be negotiated.
This walk takes you up via some amazing old Larch trees which are massive.
The views from the peak are stunning, you have a grand vista of the whole of the Ecrins massif.
